Final Flight
Final Flight
GOD’S people soon will make a trip,
but there’s no need to pack.
We will be furnished all required
and there will be no lack.
We won’t have to buy a ticket…
the trip is our LORDS treat.
We won’t have to call ahead
and reserve a window seat.
There will be no inline standing,
no awkward airport search.
When we leave … it will be quick…
we’ll leave here with a lurch.
No airport tower authorizing…
our scheduled departure.
We’ll leave in an instant
like GOD’S arrow from an archer.
There will be no in flight movie,
or beverages to drink.
Our flight will take a moment…
with barely time to blink.
We won’t have to ask permission
or inquiring where to land.
We’ll be ushered into Heaven…
by our own GOD’S hand.
When we arrive we needn’t look
for porters at the gate.
We’ll disembark without a hitch;
there is no need to wait.
We needn’t visit inbound flights…
our baggage there to claim.
We won’t need our luggage…
we’ll soon hear GOD call our name.
“Come Up Hither” were the words
we all heard before our flight.
There wasn’t time to be alarmed…
our trip a pure delight.
Then a mighty trumpet blast,
before we all moved out.
The voice of GOD was calling us
with a mighty shout.
We won’t need our passports,
or our visa’s to gain entry.
We’ll be greeted at the gate…
by GOD’S Angelic Sentry.
When we’re allowed to enter in,
we’ll meet our loved one’s there.
Be sure to thank our dear LORD JESUS…
for payment of our fare.

But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where [is] thy sting? O grave, where [is] thy victory?
The sting of death [is] sin; and the strength of sin [is] the law.
But thanks [be] to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:51-57
