Wishes

Wishes

If fables were factual, and genies were real…
There are many wishes that I could reveal.
I’d wish for long life to spend on this earth.
I’d wish for a time that was crowded with mirth.

I’d wish for a family that I dearly love.
I’d wish for encouragement, when I need a shove.
I’d wish for true love… one completely sincere.
I’d wish for more courage, to help face a fear.

I’d wish extra strength, to help stay the course.
I’d wish I had knowledge, to determine it’s source.
I’d wish for a manual, to help guide my choice.
I’d wish for instructions from some inner voice.

I’d wish I be given… a fair chance for success.
I’d wish for a listener, when I did profess.
I’d wish I had friendships; at least one or two.
I’d wish for fulfillment when this life was through.

All wishes I’ve mentioned… I’ve heard others share.
I’ve learned long ago, “wishes” granted are rare.
I’m certain that wishes, are products of whim.
Life’s much more certain… when we turn to HIM.
