Leaning on YOU

Leaning on YOU

Please LORD let me feel YOUR closeness… when the doubts creep in…
Let me draw upon YOUR STRENGTH… and know that YOU’RE within…
Whatever comes upon my life… Whether failure or success…
I’d like to be found working hard… and always YOU confess…

I pray YOU will direct my steps… when challenge is at hand…
I pray YOU will prepare my heart… to “see” and understand…
Please allow me YOUR discernment when problems do arise..
Please direct my thoughts to know… which choice is fair and wise.

LORD I ask forgiveness… for the times I have shown doubt…
I’ve been in this spot before… and YOU always got me out…
Worry seems to fill my thoughts… because of things I “see”…
I forget YOU’RE in control… of things from A to Z..

If I have to lose the things… I’ve fought too hard to keep…
Things that I have fretted over… keeping me from sleep…
Would it be so great a loss… that I could not recover?
Is there something “new” for me… that I could discover?

What’s the future hold for me… can I plot a new course?
If, I ever had this loss… YOU still will be my source!
Youth and strength have faded… though my will is still intact…
I ask YOU to strengthen me… on how I would react…

I don’t want to just “give up” and moan “Oh woe is me”
In my heart I truly feel… there’s still a place for me…
YOU… and YOU alone… can see the future for us all…
YOU’LL decide the outcome… shall we rise or shall we fall…

Forgive me LORD for worrying… and considering the worst…
I should learn to stop and PRAY…and seek YOUR counsel first…
I’m but flesh and blood YOU made… and admittedly am weak…
Before I spend more time in worry… it’s YOU that I will seek…
