Wait

WAIT

How many times have we all heard
that word that we all hate?
No! You can’t have ice cream now.
You’ll just have to “wait”.

All our lives we’ve heard this word
which meant we were denied.
Possibly some risky things
that we have never tried.

Waiting can be anxious,
and sometimes filled with dread…
Knowing that there’s trouble waiting
when you forge ahead.

Deciding whether you should wait
or step out in advance;
Play it safe, or risk a fall…
when you took that chance.

Life is filled with hesitations,
that fit the term to “wait”.
Often if you move too slowly,
it would be to late.

Other times it doesn’t matter…
you don’t have a choice.
Situations do occur…
that seldom heed your voice.

Thou knoweth not what a day may bring forth,
Boast not thyself of tomorrow;
A poignant Bible verse reminds us
It could be happiness… or sorrow.

Waiting is a complex thing,
Or at least it seems to “me”.
When will GOD move to set things right?
We’ll have to “wait” and see.

I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

My soul [waiteth] for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: [I say, more than] they that watch for the morning.

Psalm 130:5-6
